If you’re feeling unsure what to eat—or overwhelmed by conflicting advice—I can help you find a practical, evidence-informed approach that fits your situation.

Strong evidence shows that targeted nutrition can support recovery, improve energy and strength, and help you feel more in control of your health again. Nutrition also plays an important role in reducing the risk of lymphedema and in managing symptoms if lymphedema or lipedema are already part of your life.

Through personalized, one-to-one nutrition counselling for cancer, lymphedema, lipedema, and other complex chronic conditions, you’ll receive an in-depth assessment and clear, individualized recommendations designed around your body, your treatment history, and your goals.

My sessions are supportive, practical, and empowering. You won’t be handed a generic meal plan or told what to do without context. Instead, I’ll explain the why behind each recommendation, so you understand how nutrition supports your health and feel confident making choices that truly help.

If you’re ready for expert guidance, clarity, and a plan you can actually follow, I invite you to book a session and take the next step in supporting your health.

For Cancer Patients and Survivors

A cancer diagnosis is scary. I know, because I’ve had one, too. But I found power in giving my body the very best chance of defying cancer with a nutritious diet, and I want to share that strength and empowerment with you.

I will work with you to create a personalized, evidence-informed nutrition and lifestyle plan that will support your immune system, reduce chronic inflammation and act on cancer cells directly. You’ll feel more in control of your health — I know I did. My anxiety and fear started to dissipate when I educated myself and made changes to improve my nutrition — this allowed me to feel less anxious knowing that I was actively helping myself.

For Lymphedema and Lipedema

Whether you have primary or secondary lymphedema, or whether you are newly diagnosed or have had it for decades, I’ve seen first hand how nutrition can help. Same goes for lipedema. So often, nutrition is treated as an afterthought, or worse yet, not even considered at all, but I’ve worked with hundreds of people with lymphedema and lipedema and I’ve seen the power of nutrition to reduce swelling and manage symptoms like pain, heaviness and tired limbs. You are not alone and I can help you cut through the confusion, and come up with a plan that considers, your medical history and current issues, your symptoms and your food preferences. We will build something together that your future self will thank you for.

Frequently Asked Questions

Lymphedema is the retention of protein-rich lymph fluid, or in other words “lymph edema”. It can be primary – you are born with it or the predisposition to develop it at any time. Many people also develop it as a result of cancer treatment, but any surgery or injury could cause it. In tropical countries, it can occur after mosquito bite which implants a parasite into the lymphatic system.

Lymphedema creates a blockage in the lymphatic system, keeping the system from draining and causing painful swelling in the soft tissues usually in the limbs, but it can happen anywhere, including the head, neck, groin, breast or abdomen. While there is no cure for lymphedema, it can be managed with complete decongestive therapy, targeted nutrition and other lifestyle changes.

Lipedema is a little-understood disorder that causes a symmetrical but disproportionate buildup of painful, nodular fatty tissue. It is often misdiagnosed as obesity, cellulite or lymphedema. People with lipedema find it very difficult to lose this fatty tissue despite their best efforts, but diet strategies can help reduce inflammation and may help manage pain and slow the progression of lipedema.

Nutrition during cancer treatment can help you manage the many side-effects such as nausea, weight loss, lack of appetite, loss of strength, heart burn and many other challenges that treatment brings. Nutrition can also help you have peace of mind after treatment ends, as it  can support the immune system, reduce chronic inflammation, and act on cancer cells directly. A nutritious diet may also help to improve your energy and mood and may help reduce your anxiety. Plus, specific nutrition and lifestyle strategies may help to reduce the risk of developing lymphedema after cancer.

For Canadian residents, I am able to bill directly to a limited number of insurance plans through eClaims by Telus Health. Most require you to pay upfront and submit your receipt for reimbursement. To avoid disappointment, please confirm with your provider prior to booking the specifics of your coverage. Most of my clients pay out of pocket for nutrition counselling as they can see the value that it brings to their life. For my American clients, I am not able to bill directly but can issue a receipt with my CDR registration number. Some U.S. states require you to work with only dietitians registered with the state. Enrolling as a student in one of my programs is not restricted by location.

I do not provide a meal plan to clients. Instead, I use my understanding of diet along with my client’s goals and current eating habits to identify the foods that are undermining their health and recommend appropriate changes which could be adding new foods, reducing or eliminating others or other adjustments such as improving the meal balance or timing.
